ABOUT

Call Me Rose

Once a tenured college professor, I have a PhD in English and how to make magic out of chaos. While facing whistleblower retaliation for calling out university leadership’s protection of powerful men over and against survivors, I started stripping as my escape route from academia.

Resigning at the top of 2024 incited so much wild, unexpected change and growth that my first name stopped fitting. Luckily I’m no stranger to aliases (not to mention stage names) though, so the switch felt organic; since my birth under a full moon, I’ve moved around enough to welcome reinvention, going by Rosie (pronounced Whoa-we) as an odd child and Ali (also Big Al, Violent Femme, etc.) as a feisty teen before adopting Alison (then, Dr. Reed) as my “serious” adult identity. I’m so grateful that all of my parts walked me home to Rose.

From the hellish halls of academe to strip club VIP rooms, my creative work explores the unlikely intimacies of spiritual & social transformation.
